The Young and The Restless. WMC-FM's accomplishments were a breakthrough by industry standards. Proudly boasting 400 thousand watts of power, the station was the nations second most powerful radio station and greatly influenced others. Thanks for the WMC Photo! Jon Scott was a friend of mine, and told me about the 400 Thousand Watts of Power. Now they are about 295 Thousand. It was neat to see Jon in the Picture when he had lots of hair!
Seeing the picture of the FM100 DJ's really brought back some fond memories of Memphis radio. I consider myself fortunate to say I was an FM100 listener for many years until that fateful year 1975 when they ditched the album rock format. I still have several albums in my collection from artists I have never heard over the radio except for FM100 (David Werner and Kathi Dalton for example). Oh to be able to go back to those great days of FM rock..........
Non stop STEREO rock for the great Mid South WMC FM100....dig it
Ron Michaels ,our little bitty buddy RIP
