New book "The Rock Trenches - Journal of a Music Industry Executive" is a non-fiction memoir canvasing the early days of Rock 'N' Soul Music. The story is written by author - photographer Phillip Rauls as he seeks entrance into a business that beckons his call. During his travels he is very fortunate to carry with him a camera enabling him to capture rare moments. Better still, in the book Rauls has the ability to express himself in words and without the fabricated usage of a ghost writer. He begins his journey as a road manager to a local garage band who has a million selling record just out of high school. The Gentrys "Keep On Dancing" scores big while opening future doors for him to become the promotion manager for legendary Soul label STAX Records. At that point the story skyrockets as he is lured away to join the global leader in music, Atlantic Records. With the growing popularity of FM radio and a record label that conquers all of Rock Music's endless boundaries, Rauls rubs shoulders with the top mover & shakers of the radio and record industry. He continues his journey by joining 20th Century Fox Records an becomes a finalist in Billboard Magazines 'Regional Record Executive of The Year'. He later joins the mighty EMI Records while gaining additional awards.
