RIP Tony Joe White (1943-2018)
In memory of old friend Tony Joe White (1943-2018) who passed away Wednesday at the age of 75.
The former Memphian was originally from Louisiana but died in Nashville where he had lived for several decades. In my opinion, Tony Joe White was one of the greatest songwriters in modern music history have written the monster hits, "Polk Salad Annie" and "Rainy Night in Georgia" among others. His songs were covered by many great artists such as Elvis Presley, Hank Williams Jr, Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Waylon Jennings and many more. RIP Tony Joe. You will be missed.
