Classic Photo STAX Veterans

 

Seen here is legendary drummer Mr. Al Jackson Jr. (1935-1975) of Booker T. & The MG's and Mr. Don Nix, a founding member of classic instrumental group The Mar-Keys. Photo captured in the late 1960's at the Denmark railway station while chatting about their historic European tour that opened the doors for many STAX artists. Both Jackson & Nix would further their careers with expansive artist endeavors that included solo projects, songwriting and the production of other major recording artists. It should be further known that Al Jackson Jr. and Don Nix were both pioneers in a expansive period of American music history that influenced many globally known artists for years to come including the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many more.
