Be Careful What You Wish For...

The year was 1985 and I can remember player-coaching in a basketball league in Memphis when I'd rush home to watch late night TV. You see, NBA Basketball games from the West Coast came-on at 10 or 10:30 PM in Memphis so this worked out fine for me. I could sit on my couch and pop-open a beer and watch B-Ball til after midnight. At the time I was totally enthralled into the basketball world and inherently surrounded myself with 'game.' My favorite team was the Seattle Super Sonics and I loved watching them with stars like Jack Sikma, Paul Westfall and Dennis Johnson and Downtown Freddie Brown. While watching my favorites, how I dreamed of living in a town that had an NBA team. Funny thing though, one year later, I had Sonics season tickets and was living that very dream.
